About The Position

The Project Manager supports ABB’s rapidly growing Data Center Smart Power business and leads on-site activities for large or complex project site work. The role is responsible for cost-effective execution of project deliverables in line with contract specifications, quality standards, schedules, and safety requirements through startup, construction or erection, and commissioning. It involves maintaining an on-site presence throughout projects and coordinating work activities to ensure smooth execution. The role contributes to the Electrification Smart Power division in North America and is remote, with regular visits to construction sites.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field; PMP certification and equivalent work experience may be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree.
10 or more years of experience in project management, construction management, or field service.
Ability to travel up to an estimated 30% of the time.
Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office products.
Expected to reside in one of the listed areas and regularly visit construction sites.

Nice To Haves

Data center or large-scale construction experience is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of UPS, STS, and PDU equipment site commissioning is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure a detailed, up-to-date site Health and Safety plan is in place for each work package and complies with the ABB Health and Safety plan.
Manage ABB technicians and subcontractors across multiple sites to achieve required quality and progress and meet delivery dates and agreed standards.
Plan on-site project activities with the Site Team, including local resources, equipment, and milestones.
Manage the budget for on-site activities to meet margin targets.
Coordinate agreements between the customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization, and policy.
Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, in alignment with the Service Quality Manager, to maintain good customer relationships.
