Project Manager

Southeast Christian ChurchMiddletown, KY

About The Position

Southeast Christian Church is seeking a Project Manager to join their Project Management Team (PMT) within the Operations Division. This role is responsible for ensuring the church's most important initiatives are scoped, planned, resourced, and executed with excellence. The Project Manager will manage system-wide operational projects, technology and facilities initiatives, and other high-impact organizational work across their multi-campus family. The church serves approximately 40,000 members across 15 campuses in Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee, with a vision to "unleash the full force of the Church to love people one at a time."

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of project management or project coordination experience, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — the ability to track many moving parts without dropping anything.
  • Experience with Monday.com, Asana, Workfront, or similar project management platforms required.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator — able to translate complex project status into straightforward updates for senior leaders.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • Comfortable working across multiple campuses and ministry areas, building relationships with diverse teams.
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one.
  • Models staff values: Honor, Care, Accountability, Grit, Authenticity, Humility, and Fun.
  • Lives out staff expectations of groups, inviting, serving, worship, and giving.
  • Agree with the Statement of Faith, submit to the leadership established by the church, and lives out our church Mantras in tangible ways.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with hybrid project management methodology (Waterfall phase gates + Agile execution principles) preferred.
  • PMP certification, CAPM, or active pursuit preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Project Management, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full project lifecycle for assigned system-wide operational, technology, and facilities projects — from charter through formal closure.
  • Conduct structured discovery sessions using the PMT's 21 Discovery Questions to define scope, identify stakeholders, surface risks, and build a signed Project Charter before work begins.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans — ensuring every task has one owner, a due date, and a current status visible to all stakeholders at any time.
  • Run weekly project check-ins with owners and stakeholders, surfacing blockers before they become critical.
  • Provide accurate, honest Red/Yellow/Green project status reports to the Leader of Operations on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Log and manage all scope change requests through the formal PMT change control process — no quiet 'yes.'
  • Identify and escalate resource conflicts, unresolved risks, and leadership decisions needed before they stall progress.
  • Support campus-specific project coordination as needed, ensuring campus-level constraints (staffing, scheduling, local ministry calendars) are reflected in project timelines.
  • Participate in project closure processes — capturing lessons learned, updating relevant templates, and archiving completed projects.
  • Serve as a trusted, collaborative partner to Ministry Leaders, Campus Pastors, and Operations staff — bringing expertise, not oversight.
  • Contribute to PMT framework development, including templates, intake processes, and Monday.com workspace improvements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
