About The Position

United Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background to join their integrated project delivery team. This role will focus on leading complex, multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects, ensuring successful end-to-end delivery that meets safety, time, budget, and quality standards. The Project Manager will champion core values, manage multiple projects up to £10 million, and undertake Principal Contractor responsibilities under CDM 2015. Key responsibilities include leading HSQE procedures, conducting site inspections, managing project programs and commercial aspects, providing line management, coordinating the supply chain, acting as the client point of contact, chairing meetings, managing change control, collaborating with designers, mentoring teams, and ensuring method statements and risk assessments are in place. Resource and material planning to meet delivery schedules is also crucial.

Requirements

  • Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Project Manager role within the water industry
  • APM PMQ (or equivalent project management qualification)
  • SMSTS (CITB)
  • CSCS (Manager Level)
  • CDM Awareness
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management

Nice To Haves

  • NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Temporary Works Coordinator certification
  • Proficient in MS Project or similar planning tools
  • SEATS or Environmental Management training

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of multiple ongoing projects (up to £10 million in value).
  • Undertake Principal Contractor responsibilities in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Lead the implementation of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) procedures across all projects.
  • Conduct regular health and safety site inspections and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Manage overall project programmes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Oversee all commercial aspects, including budget management, cost control, and achieving target margins.
  • Provide line management to Site Managers, Engineers, and Site Foremen.
  • Coordinate and manage supply chain partners, resolving issues and driving performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders; build strong relationships and provide regular updates on project progress.
  • Chair and lead project meetings, ensuring accurate documentation of discussions, actions, and decisions.
  • Manage change control and client expectations through effective communication and risk management.
  • Collaborate with designers to develop practical, cost-effective, and buildable solutions.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of project delivery teams.
  • Ensure all necessary method statements and risk assessments are in place and maintained.
  • Plan and secure resources and materials to meet delivery schedules.
