About The Position
The Project Manager will manage a portfolio of asset-sustaining, opportunity, and small-capital projects at the Plaquemine, Louisiana location in a petrochemical/plant environment. The role covers preliminary and detailed project scoping, engineering design, scheduling, cost estimating, procurement, supervision, project execution, and construction management. The manager is accountable for project safety, scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and will manage contractors and third-party engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
Responsibilities
- Manage third-party teams.
- Develop project scopes and support sound project economics, including return on investment.
- Prepare project scopes and business cases and present them to leadership.
- Lead engineering projects.
- Execute and manage capital projects of varying sizes and complexity.
- Ensure project safety, scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Manage contractors and promote a positive safety culture.
- Administer projects, including approvals, reporting, and schedule updates.
- Oversee technical project design and third-party engineering.
- Control costs by developing estimates and budgets and providing monthly project forecasts.
- Develop project schedules and report on progress.
- Develop engineering work packages for projects.
- Oversee construction in an industrial environment.
- Contribute to department initiatives, including non-project-specific engineering and project-management process definition.
- Support site and company initiatives related to safety, production, expansion, and maintenance.
- Support technical and personal development and coach contractors and trades.
