About The Position

The Project Manager will work with developer customers, municipal stakeholders, and local permitting agencies, such as NYSPSC, NYCDEP, NYDOT, NY Counties, and NY Towns. This role involves participating in project team scheduling and budgetary planning, managing internal and external project resources, and setting unit goals and direction to align with action plans and program management. The Project Manager will oversee project budgets, including O&M and Capital, analyze project unit performance, and initiate actions to control scope, schedule, and cost performance. Responsibilities include approving project plans, executing contract strategies, controlling and authorizing expenditures, and ensuring compliance with project management and quality management processes. The role requires coordination with various departments, consultants, attorneys, utilities, regulatory agencies, government agencies, and major customers. The Project Manager may represent the company and testify in regulatory hearings or at agency/municipal meetings, and provide recommendations on policies and goals, implementing new/revised processes and procedures. Ensuring the risk control system is utilized and Project accountability overview, complying with FERC, NERC, and other applicable regulations is crucial. The role involves attending Cost & Schedule meetings, working with a Coordinator on Risk definition, cost, and Mitigation Action analysis, and attending Executive Management meetings to provide reports and cost-schedule-risk views.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience
  • 5 years of experience in Transmission and distribution utility systems, configuration and general arrangements of networks (substations, overhead lines and cable) and infrastructures
  • 5 years of experience in Leading a project team, including both direct and indirect reports
  • 5 years of experience in Risk management and mitigation plans for utility transmission and distribution projects
  • 5 years of experience in Utilizing Microsoft suite for data analysis, budgeting and planning and optimizing schedules
  • 5 years of experience in Presenting on the status and results of utility projects utilizing Microsoft Office software
  • 5 years of experience in Field construction sequencing, outage planning and supervision requirements of field personnel and construction contractors
  • 5 years of experience in Managing utility projects that require quality and environmental management processes, including spill control, job site safety, and permitting
  • 4 years of experience in integrating scheduling IT tools and software to support project execution: MS Project, Primavera P6 with costs and resource requirements
  • 2 years of experience in Contract negotiations and supplier and vendor management
  • 1 year of experience in estimating project budgets for utility transmission and distribution projects

Responsibilities

  • Attend Cost & Schedule meetings.
