Requirements

  • Experienced software engineer focused on operations.
  • Experience with cloud services (Azure and Google Cloud).
  • Experience with Windows Servers and Linux Servers.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Ability to create SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
  • Ability to develop monitoring architecture, implement monitoring agents, build dashboards, manage escalations and alerts.
  • Experience in incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and risk management processes.
  • Willingness to be on call for periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PaaS providers (Azure and GCP).

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and scaling production services and servers for complex and high throughput cloud services (Azure (primarily) and Google Cloud).
  • Improving scalability, service reliability, capacity, and performance.
  • Writing automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at massive scale.
  • Initiating and contributing to continuous improvement of software delivery processes and practices in a multi-location, multidisciplinary team to empower and accelerate product development.
  • Using automation extensively to design, configure, manage, and monitor systems in support of product development teams.
  • Participating in Disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Maintaining / patching servers supporting SaaS products, including Windows Servers, Linux Servers running in in-house Datacenters and/or using cloud PaaS providers (Azure and GCP).
  • Developing / Monitoring dashboards to detect problems related to application, infrastructure and potential security incidents on a daily basis.
  • Helping coordinate estimations and capacity planning.
  • Working hand-in-hand with all teams to ship code to production using Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Collaborating with development teams and using intuition, experience and understanding to create SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
  • Providing timely assistance and remediation solutions during critical situations and production incidents to help resolve service problems.
  • Developing monitoring architecture, implementing monitoring agents, building dashboards, managing escalations and alerts.
  • Participating in incident management and driving root cause analysis (RCA) and risk management processes.
