About The Position

OHLA USA is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Water/Wastewater to support our growing operations in Southeast Florida. The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from preconstruction through project closeout. The ideal candidate will have experience managing construction projects involving water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump/lift stations, pipelines, utility infrastructure, process piping, mechanical systems, and related civil/site work. This individual will provide overall project leadership while maintaining strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of construction/project management experience, preferably with a general contractor or construction manager.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, process piping, underground utilities, or similar infrastructure strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, cost control, change management, procurement, and subcontractor management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with municipal or public-sector clients in Florida is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with South Florida water/wastewater agencies and infrastructure projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage water and wastewater construction projects from planning and preconstruction through execution, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Oversee construction activities associated with water/wastewater treatment facilities, pump and lift stations, pipelines, underground utilities, process piping, mechanical equipment, concrete structures, and supporting civil infrastructure.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, cost controls, forecasting, procurement, and overall project performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors, including scope development, procurement, contract negotiations, performance, and change management.
  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittmits, shop drawings, and change orders.
  • Coordinate closely with project superintendents, engineers, field personnel, subcontractors, designers, owners, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Monitor project costs and prepare forecasts, cost reports, and financial projections.
  • Identify potential project risks, delays, design conflicts, and constructability issues and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable environmental and safety requirements.
  • Support equipment procurement, installation, startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities as applicable to water/wastewater facilities.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates regarding schedule, cost, quality, safety, procurement, and project risks.
  • Manage change orders, claims, documentation, and contract correspondence.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout all phases of construction.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor and provide leadership to Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other members of the project team.
  • Ensure timely and successful project closeout, including punch-list completion, as-built documentation, O&M manuals, commissioning documentation, and final acceptance.
