About The Position

GFT is seeking a Project Manager, Utility Coordinator to join their Transportation Practice in North Carolina. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring partial attendance at their Wilmington, NC office. Requirements

• 8 years of experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in project teamwork
• Experience on NCDOT and Municipal projects is preferred.
• A history of partnering with various utility owners and companies
• Familiarity with roadway design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, ORD).
• Technical excellence in civil & highway design.
• Familiarity with contract documents.
• Demonstrated experience in successful project execution.
• A thorough understanding of the requirements and complexities of the design and management of multi-disciplinary projects, such as utility coordination, construction staging, traffic management, public consultation, external agency approvals, communication and liaison, coordination of sub-consultants and design groups, schedule and budget control, quality control and construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project management plans and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Maintain a close working relationship with all discipline leads, department heads, other project managers, project controls staff, and construction personnel to foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Ensure a high level of technical quality on the projects through complex problem-solving and innovative solutions.
• Mentor and provide leadership training to project staff to support their professional growth and skill advancement.
