This position is within the Asset Management unit in the Transportation Services Division. The section provides central management and oversight of planning, development, environmental compliance, and budget coordination for projects, programs and infrastructure assets that make up Toronto's street network. The unit is responsible for establishing, maintaining and managing inventories for transportation infrastructure assets, including roads, bridges, sidewalks, culverts, retaining walls, guiderails and crash systems, and, green infrastructure, including attributes and conditions, environmental requirements, and, state of good repair maintenance and capital programs. The unit also oversees environmental requirements associated with the acquisition, conveyance, operation and maintenance of transportation infrastructure assets, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, City policies, and environmental approvals. Reporting to the Manager and Senior Environmental Project Manager, Asset Management unit, the Project Manager acts as the primary Transportation Services environmental lead for Metrolinx property transfer, lease, handback, and environmental clearance programs; provides strategic advice on environmental due diligence requirements and facilitates coordination among City divisions, consultants, and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will also support the delivery of the Contaminated Right-of-Way Management Program and System (CROWMP/CROWMS), while coordinating environmental investigation, risk management measures, peer reviews, and land transfer activities involving Transportation Services.
