About The Position

This role is for a Project Manager – Tailings who will lead critical tailings capital projects that support safe, sustainable operations. The position involves collaborating cross-functionally to deliver high-impact infrastructure improvements within a global organization focused on innovation, performance, and continuous improvement in mining. The role is permanent and based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company values care, courage, and curiosity. The Project Manager – Tailings will lead the planning and delivery of capital projects supporting tailings expansion and operational readiness. This is an opportunity for a collaborative and solutions-focused professional to contribute to complex, large-scale projects in a dynamic environment. Reporting to the relevant leader and working within a diverse and collaborative project team, the Project Manager will lead the development and execution of tailings capital projects, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, cost, and risk. They will partner with plant and operational stakeholders to identify priorities and define value-driven project scopes, support decision-making through accurate cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments, and ensure safety is integrated into all project phases. The role also involves managing contractors and vendors, monitoring project performance, and driving continuous improvement. Facilitating effective communication and alignment across cross-functional teams and stakeholders is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of tailings capital projects, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, cost, and risk
  • Partner with plant and operational stakeholders to identify priorities and define value-driven project scopes
  • Support decision-making through accurate cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments
  • Ensure safety is integrated into all project phases, from design through execution
  • Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring performance, compliance, and effective delivery
  • Monitor project performance and drive continuous improvement across cost, schedule, and risk outcomes
  • Facilitate effective communication and alignment across cross-functional teams and stakeholders
