About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager to support structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects across multiple regions. This position is ideal for a self-sufficient construction professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can independently manage projects from award through closeout. This is not a remote position. Candidates must be willing to travel based on project needs. When assigned to a project in a market where Berlin Steel has an office, the expectation is that the Project Manager will work out of that office location while supporting the project.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals experience required
  • Proven experience independently managing construction projects
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection processes, drawings, sequencing, and field coordination
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight
  • Experience handling project financials, schedules, subcontractors, and customer communication
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel as project needs require
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Experience with construction/project management software systems

Responsibilities

  • Manage structural steel and miscellaneous metals construction projects from project turnover through completion
  • Oversee project financials, scheduling, coordination, subcontractors, RFIs, change orders, and contract compliance
  • Coordinate with engineering, detailing, fabrication, erection, vendors, and customers to keep projects moving efficiently
  • Maintain project schedules, track milestones, and proactively resolve issues
  • Participate in job meetings, site visits, and customer coordination meetings
  • Support project execution while maintaining quality, safety, and budget expectations
  • Prepare and manage cost tracking, billing support, and project documentation
