About The Position

As a Project Manager – Strategic Accounts, you will lead complex payment initiatives for large enterprise merchants, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. You will collaborate closely with client stakeholders, account management, product, technology, and operations teams to execute critical programs. Your work will help our clients optimize their payment experiences and deepen their partnership with Fiserv.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional project teams in a matrixed environment, driving accountability without direct authority.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP; ability to build repeatable analyses and reconciliations.
  • Experience working directly with external clients, including leading client meetings, managing expectations, and handling challenging conversations.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ years of experience managing medium to large-scale projects or programs in payments, fintech, or financial services for enterprise or large merchant clients.
  • Experience with merchant onboarding, payment integrations (for example, APIs, SDKs), or point-of-sale (POS) solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex project status, risks, and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders using clear, measurable data and metrics.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or equivalent project management certification or credential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex payment projects for large enterprise merchants, from initiation through closure.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, dependencies, and milestones, ensuring clear ownership and accountability.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (product, engineering, operations, finance, and account management) to resolve issues and manage project risks.
  • Facilitate client-facing status meetings, steering committees, and project workshops, providing clear, data-driven updates and recommendations.
  • Manage scope, budget, and change control processes, ensuring alignment with client objectives and contractual commitments.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating effectively with clear action plans and impact analysis.
  • Document and communicate project requirements, decisions, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders in a structured, repeatable way.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of project management standards, tools, and best practices.
