About The Position

The project manager, steel and precast is responsible for managing the cost, schedule, and quality of assigned steel and precast projects and ensuring they align with the company’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or any combination of education and professional experience that would meet the responsibilities listed above.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to easily interact with members of the company’s leadership team, client organizations, and the community.
  • Well-organized, dedicated pre-planner, and problem-solver.
  • Able to multitask, work efficiently both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment, and learn and adapt quickly while maintaining strong attention to detail and customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Primavera P6, Procore, and Bluebeam.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous construction management experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivates strong relationships with clients, design partners, and other key project stakeholders by addressing clients’ business drivers, frequently visiting project sites, and facilitating conversations with the project team.
  • Drives the construction management process of assigned steel and precast projects including, but not limited to, reviewing client contracts, participating in the preconstruction and bidding process, performing submittal and Request for Information (RFI) processes, resolving issues and coordinating purchases with subcontractors and suppliers, analyzing steel and precast activities with respective teams, and leading timely project closeouts.
  • Continuously monitors and manages job costs and labor productions.
  • Participates in recurring meetings with the director, steel and precast to discuss project financials.
  • Closely monitors project cashflow and billings.
  • Prices and negotiates Potential Change Items (PCIs).
  • Actively participates in risk management on projects by identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Creates and maintains steel and precast project schedules, ensuring all activities are included and align with master project schedules.
  • Conducts weekly updates to steel and precast schedules.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
