About The Position

Wonder is seeking a Project Manager, Software & Robotics to streamline development, align engineering teams, and drive execution. This role involves deeply embedding with the core software engineering team to manage the day-to-day administrative and operational rhythm of software delivery. Responsibilities include running sprint planning, managing backlogs, tracking timelines and roadmaps, and communicating initiatives. As the role progresses, the scope will expand to broader product-level project management, including cross-functional timelines and coordination for the Infinite Makeline Product. The company focuses on owning every step of the dining experience, from recipe development to technology, to deliver quality, variety, and consistency at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or systems-focused field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Operations Management, or Human-Computer Interaction), or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to comfortably engage in technical discussions regarding tech stacks, API dependencies, and how software interacts with physical systems.
  • 3–5+ Years of Professional Experience: Execution-focused individual with hands-on experience facilitating engineering workflows, coordinating sprint cycles, or managing technical projects.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycles and Agile methodologies, with a passion for keeping engineering processes structured and efficient.
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern project management tools (Jira & Confluence), with the ability to maintain and clean up ticketing backlogs.
  • Experience with Excel and putting together project timeline visuals to share with external groups.
  • Sets the bar high and is excited to stay organized and does not allow timelines or documentation to be unclear or hard to find.
  • The ability to speak "software" fluently, bridging the gap between highly technical engineers and higher-level project timelines.
  • A strong interest in working on a complex physical product where software directly controls robotic machinery and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Own Software Sprint Lifecycles: Establish and run the day-to-day cadence for the software engineering team, including sprint planning, sprint kickoff and daily standups, backlog maintenance, and retrospectives.
  • Manage Timelines & Track Progress: Translate product milestones into detailed software execution schedules, ensuring day-to-day task assignments directly align with the overarching master timeline.
  • Architect Admin & Tooling Frameworks: Keep project management tools (Jira, Confluence) meticulously organized, updated, and reflective of true project status, making sharing status updates with other internal teams easy and clear.
  • Bridge to the Infinite Makeline Product: Gradually scale scope to support the broader Infinite Makeline Product, managing cross-functional timelines that connect software deliverables with hardware and operational milestones.
  • Embrace a High-Ownership Mindset: Bring a "no task too small" mentality, seamlessly wearing whatever hat is required to handle administrative hurdles, update documentation, and keep the team moving forward.
  • Impact Beyond Software: Potential added scope includes managing culinary testing on the Infinite Makeline and tracking results, bridging communication with different groups at Wonder, owning documentation of training materials or new feature roll-outs, and other fast-moving projects.
