About The Position

CPH is a nationally recognized, multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architecture firm looking for a Project Manager / Site Civil Engineer to join their expanding Community Development team in Tampa. This role involves leading and working on site civil aspects of projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, construction plan preparation, and permitting. The projects span various sectors such as parks and recreation, public works, public safety, education, institutional facilities, and drainage systems. The position offers leadership responsibility, client interaction, and a clear growth path, with a focus on shaping communities across Florida. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is offered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in site/civil engineering.
  • Proven experience managing site development projects and client relationships.
  • Strong experience with site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Familiarity with local permitting processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional results.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain quickly) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with project management tools (Deltek Vision, Smartsheet, or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead / senior civil engineer on a variety of site/civil project types.
  • Take a leadership role and perform general and specific portions of project or as part of a team with other experienced engineers.
  • Work under supervision of a Program Manager, however able to organize workload and work independently on project-specific design tasks.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, building and maintaining strong relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, technical reports, calculations, and specifications to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Preparation of permits such as ERPs(Environmental Resource Permits), FDEP NPDES, SWPPP, Grading, Utilities (FDEP and FDOH), and Civil Support for local county/city site development permitting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planning, environmental, transportation, and surveying.
  • Proactively identify risks and develop practical, cost-effective solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure all designs meet local, state, and federal regulations as well as CPH’s high-quality standards.
