ICF is seeking a Project Manager/Senior Biologist to support a wide range of projects in the water resources, energy, transportation, broadband fiber, climate resilience, and planning sectors of our company. You will join an existing team of biological and regulatory professionals that includes wildlife biologists, botanists, aquatic resource biologists (waters, wetlands, and riparian areas), restoration ecologists, and regulatory specialists. You may conduct work at project sites across California that require travel away from home and overnight stays. The position will be based in San Francisco with the option to work remotely within Northern CA.

Requirements

  • MS in Biology, Natural Resource Sciences, Environmental Studies
  • 15+ years of experience in biological resource management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing or conducting studies for Pacific Gas & Electric, California Department of Transportation, and/or Department of Water Resources
  • Strong knowledge of environmental consulting practices and environmental laws
  • Experience preparing proposal scope and budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with clients, prepare meeting agenda, and meeting minutes
  • Experience with business and client development
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience working with resource agencies and developing complex environmental and regulatory strategies
  • Experience working with clients and project management tools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and train teams of biologists
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, including ability to identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects that involve a wide range of biological field studies, technical analyses, and regulatory and permitting tasks across sectors.
  • Provide senior-level expertise and technical guidance on complex projects involving CEQA, NEPA, federal and state laws, and agency consultations
  • Support and guide complex regulatory strategies and climate-based planning solutions
  • Provide leadership to wildlife biologists and help mentor, train, and guide junior and mid-level biologists
  • Prepare proposals and support marketing efforts in target sector.
