About The Position

Kleinfelder's Geotechnical team is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager to join their team in the Central Division Dallas location. This role involves supporting the planning, engineering, and construction of complex projects, with specialists who are leading experts in their fields. The ideal candidate will coordinate and communicate with clients, manage a portfolio of projects, and supervise field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis, and technical support. The role also includes mentoring junior staff, performing analyses, and managing medium to large multi-disciplined projects. Strong analytical skills in soil and rock classification, slope stability, earth retention systems, foundation design, construction support, and materials testing are required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 9 years of related experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License and ability to be licensed in multiple states
  • Must have a positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidate must be willing to work in addition to a standard 40-hour work week when needed.
  • Strong analytical skills are required in areas including: soil and rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, construction support soil improvement techniques materials testing knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate with internal or external clients to understand their needs
  • Manage a portfolio of projects meeting client and company requirements for safety, budget, quality and schedule
  • Safely supervise field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support.
  • Mentor and manage junior staff and project level geotechnical professionals through project performance
  • Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
  • Coordinate tasks and manage medium to large size multi-disciplined projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
  • Prepare or review designs, reports and calculations on complex projects.
