About The Position

The Project Manager, Transport, Rings and Power Oversight is responsible for governance for all of our construction efforts as it relates to network extensions (inclusive of builds to meet-me points for circuits), micro-ring enablement and securing of both permanent, as well as temporary & backup power through generators and UPS. It is the responsibility of this individual to partner closely with Finance, Design and Construction/Project Management to ensure all aspects of a defined project are being delivered within the scope of the requirements, as well as underwriting model bill of materials and on-time at the highest level of quality for the defined project and scope. Additionally, this person will oversee the Power category at a community level – ensuring that we are up to date with key relationships including FPL for payments and staying aligned with Permitting bodies for power turnup. Additionally, this person will partner closely with Supply Chain to ensure generators and UPS are procured for all required sites. Lastly, this individual will partner closely with Design and Engineering on any transport or ring buildouts to ensure that the actual execution can be delivered on within the required timeline, while staying on budget for the originally scoped cost projections.

Requirements

  • Must live in Florida.
  • B.S. or MBA in Business Management, Finance or related degree.
  • 8+ years in working in a support or project management capacity within industries that involve construction and/or network engineering – telecom industry preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in project management.
  • Professional and serve as a representation of the Bluestream brand to 3rd parties inclusive of FPL and Construction/Network Engineering vendors.
  • Ownership of dates and timeline – detail oriented.
  • Understanding of the unique needs of transport and ring buildouts (or can learn from previous experience).
  • Ability to follow defined business process, balancing control with flexibility, procedure with simplicity, creating an environment of rigor and discipline.
  • Thorough understanding of company products and market trends in the telecom industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with permitting team to ensure approvals for any power related items that require permits are secured timely every time and serve as the senior escalation resource to solve any issues.
  • Tightly oversee all internal coordinator and 3rd party Business Partners to ensure actual construction of network extension, micro-ring buildouts and power enablement are completed up to the highest standard of Blue Stream Fiber.
  • Oversight of developer relations as it relates to ensuring build schedules are timely and partnering on solution to any changes in delivery – overseeing coordinator resource(s).
  • Serve as key input into CapEx forecasting and budgeting for Transport, Network Extension and Ring projects – be the internal source of truth for delivery timelines & updates inclusive of unit counts coming online.
  • Accountability in supporting planning and execution.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors involved in delivery.
  • Manage the FPL relationship – ensure that we are on time for payments and following protocols across Florida.
  • Provide requirements to Supply Chain for procuring UPS and temporary power (e.g. generators) – ensure these are installed including to specification.
