About The Position

ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their newly formed racking, material handling, and warehouse solutions team in Chicago. This specialty contracting business is poised for rapid growth by leveraging ARCO/Murray’s extensive industrial-TI experience and project pipeline. The goal is to expand their turnkey design/build services into another critical area of industrial construction. Project Managers at ARCO are fully responsible for project performance, client satisfaction, and managing projects from inception to completion, with complete profit and performance accountability and significant growth potential.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 3-5 years of construction project management or engineering design experience specific to industrial racking and/or automation systems
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working on Cold Storage, Manufacturing, Food Production, and/or Distribution facilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of industrial racking, material handling, and/or automation system projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Leverage ARCO's existing network and personal contacts to identify new projects and grow the business.
  • Collaborate with clients and the design team to define facility requirements, plan racking layouts, and develop concept drawings and budgets.
  • Participate in proposal meetings to review scope, discuss cost reductions, offer value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts.
  • Oversee the selection and buyout of trades, installers, and equipment vendors.
  • Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedules, and site logistics plans with the Project Superintendent.
  • Manage project schedules to ensure timely completion, while tracking internal commitments and holding customers accountable for theirs.
  • Track and manage project performance against budget, preparing owner pay applications, cost status reports, and progress billing.
  • Ensure the construction process is enjoyable for clients, subcontractors, and vendors without compromising quality or safety.
