About The Position

The Research and Development team is central to this ecosystem, liaising with internal departments like Engineering, Finance, Legal, Human Resources, and Communications. This team spearheads the establishment of collaborative research and development projects. Furthermore, it champions and supports CAE employees and subject matter experts in accessing cutting-edge external expertise, cultivating thought leadership and intellectual property, and attracting and nurturing future talent through an extensive R&D collaboration portfolio. As a Project Manager within the Research and Development team, you will collaborate closely with fellow project managers on a diverse array of tasks. These include supporting the management of multifaceted, innovation-driven collaboration programs on a quarterly and annual basis, encompassing scoping, technological eligibility assessment, financial forecasting, claim preparation, and audits. You will analyze R&D portfolio trends, forecasts, and statistics from both technical and financial viewpoints, consolidating and synthesizing findings into reports for various management levels. Additionally, you will support and participate in program reviews, negotiations, and audits with both internal and external stakeholders, including governmental and non-governmental organizations. You will also contribute to the preparation of business cases for opportunities aligned with CAE’s strategic growth objectives and assist in managing innovation-driven collaboration events, sponsorships, bursaries, and initiatives to bolster CAE’s engagement with post-secondary institutions across Canada.

Requirements

Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in engineering, management, finance, law or related domains
Experience in data analysis, including working with large volumes of structured and unstructured datasets
Scientific curiosity and interest in cutting-edge technological developments
Strong analytical skills and ability to abstract and summarize
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Bilingual (French and English)

Nice To Haves

Experience in proposals and management of government programs (e.g. SR&ED, Multimedia Tax Credits, NSERC, MITACS, International Programs, and others)
Strong familiarity with ERP and MRP systems, as well as financial platforms (including Oracle), complemented by experience with business intelligence tools and dashboard development (e.g., Power BI)
Work experience in a technology sector or in consulting
Team spirit and collaboration alertness

Multitasking and ability to manage initiatives of different sizes

Responsibilities
