About The Position

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to oversee power transformer projects. This role involves managing customer communications, establishing project execution procedures, leading teams to achieve goals, and ensuring smooth order execution through collaboration with various departments. The Project Manager will also be responsible for operational and logistics planning, problem-solving to improve project margins and reduce waste, approving purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of quality products and information. Additionally, the role includes managing project risks, overseeing warranty claims with a focus on customer experience, and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines.

  • Ability to pull teams together (Engineering, Project Management, Marketing, Scheduling) to assure clean information handoffs.
  • Ability to support operations and logistics teams to assure communications between all functions of the facility account for the financial impact of each project.
  • Ability to improve knowledge of the real root cause of issues resulting in margin changes, inventory, and waste.
  • Approve purchase orders for contract materials and services.
  • Approve quality assurance and control requirements.
  • Ensure timely delivery of quality information and materials, product quality and field service product performance, responsive to customers.
  • Review status reports and modify plans or schedules, as necessary, to ensure all contract parameters are met.
  • Manage project risks to avoid incurring penalties, warranty repairs or other charges.
  • Oversee the team and the claims that come in from the customers with a focus on the whole customer experience.
  • Ensure that Group and local health, safety and environmental guidelines and directives are implemented and understood to ensure safety of people and resources.
