Position Summary: Applied Digital is seeking a mid-level Project Manager to join our growing Energy Strategy organization. This role will support the evaluation, contracting, and own the continued management of energy supply agreements and obligations tracking for our data center projects, The ideal candidate will be a self-sufficient project manager who can contribute across the full project lifecycle, integrate with cross functional teams to drive project delivery, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality insights aligned with business objectives. This role is execution-focused and sits at the center of utility, regulatory, and contractual coordination and reports to the VP Energy Strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business related field (accounting, finance, management), or equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working for or with electric utilities in a commercial role negotiating, implementing and managing energy service related contracts with large commercial or industrial loads.
  • Knowledge of utility tariff structures and related regulatory processes with state public service commissions.
  • Understanding of transmission grid load studies, interconnection facilities infrastructure, and power generation technologies.
  • Ability to interface with other APLD groups, including legal, construction, operations, finance, and land procurement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in contracts related to serving data center loads is a plus.
  • Experience with electrical energy and capacity supply contracts and hedges from the RTO/ ISO market and / or third party bi-lateral agreements would be preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Electric Utilities, RTO and ISO constructs across various US regions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical load and/or behind the meter generation processes

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day coordination for energy supply agreements with electric utilities, independent power producers, or other providers.
  • Supports contract negotiations of energy supply related agreements and amendments.
  • Identify, track and ensure delivery of energy supply contract obligations.
  • Coordinate, track and provide information on core power related contracts (ESA, CRA, CIAC, interconnection agreements) with internal teams and outside counsel.
  • Developing and reporting on key project agreement metrics (KPIs) related to energization timelines and budget variances.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between development, EPC, legal, finance, and utility counterparties to keep schedules, milestones, and obligations aligned.
  • Focus on execution, risk management, and keeping projects moving once commercial structure is defined.
