About The Position

Austco is a global manufacturer of hospital and clinical communications hardware and software. We make innovative products that help nurses and caregivers as they care for their patients. Established in Perth, Australia in 1986, Austco builds the most advanced nurse call and clinical communications technology in the world. Austco's corporate head office is located in Melbourne, Australia. Our international offices are located in the USA, Canada, the UK, Singapore and New Zealand. The R&D and Order Fulfilment business units are based in Dallas, Texas. We are seeking a skilled and driven Nurse Call Installation Project Manager to lead and execute nurse call system installations across both new construction and replacement system environments. This is an office and site-based role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low-voltage systems and networking, a deep understanding of project budgeting and revenue forecasting, and hands-on experience using SimPro for project management and invoicing. This role requires a professional who can communicate clearly, resolve conflict constructively, and remain focused on delivering high-quality, financially sound projects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in nurse call communications or low-voltage system installation project management.
  • Understanding of IP-based networking, structured cabling, and system commissioning.
  • Experience with project management tools for project scheduling, costing, and invoicing; SimPro is preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong customer communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with nurse call systems such as Austco, Rauland, or Hillrom.
  • Technical certifications (e.g., PMP, CCNA) are an asset.
  • Knowledge of US Building and Electrical Codes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full project life cycle; from planning and scheduling, seeing through to high quality installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinate resources, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure efficient execution.
  • Participate in site meetings and perform regular site visits to monitor progress and address issues.
  • Manage and track RFIs, change orders, drawing submissions, and close-out packages.
  • Execute best practices and documentation
  • Oversee documentation of project milestones, installation checklists, and as-built drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with site-specific protocols, health care regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify gaps and take initiative to create new documentation standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders during the installation life cycle.
  • Represent Austco in a professional manner during job site and coordination meetings.
  • Effectively communicate priorities and relevant information back to the customer and internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Daily collaboration with cross-functional teams such as, Technical Service, Sales, CAD designers, etc.
  • Navigate challenging conversations with professionalism while protecting business interests and project scope.
  • Track project budgets and control costs in alignment with company goals.
  • Generate accurate monthly revenue forecasts and ensure timely invoicing using SimPro.
  • Provide monthly project updates for internal reporting and billing alignment.
  • Understand and apply technical knowledge of low-voltage systems and networking principles, including IP addressing, subnetting, and network configurations.
  • Collaborate on system designs reviews, installation documents, and network plans to validate accuracy and functionality.
  • Ensure all installations meet Canadian electrical codes and healthcare communication standards.
