About The Position

Responsible for providing overall project management for Willis Lease during Engine Shop Visits and repair events to ensure the engines meet all FAA/EASA and Willis Lease requirements. The Project Manager is the main interface between the MRO and Willis Lease before induction, reviewing proposals, and during the repair/overhaul event up to and including completion. The Project Manager coordinates all aspects of the shop visit including proposals, Asset Evaluations, writing/revising POs, parts sourcing, on-site reviews, and reviewing and approving invoices. This position requires the Project Manager to travel to the location of the engine as necessary to manage the repair process, review scrap material, and interact with the MRO Customer Service Manager.

Requirements

  • A&P license or EASA Part 66 License.
  • 5+ years of airline and/or engine shop experience.
  • Experience with the CFM56 Series (all), PW 4000 94” and 100”, CF6-80, CF34-10 Series, Trent 700 and 1000 series, LEAP-1A, LEAP-1B, GEnx, GE90, V2500-A5, and PW GTF series engines.
  • Strong background in engine records. The position requires knowledge of Life Limited Parts status reports (Chapter 5) and Airworthiness Directive status reports.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting ECM data for all engine types.
  • Test cell, Engine repair and overhaul, and Borescope experience required.
  • Able to travel on short notice, for extended periods, and globally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with different levels of management as well as different cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary coordinator with the MRO, Willis Lease Technical Records, and Willis Lease Sr Management to facilitate an engine repair event.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for MRO shop visit events.
  • Utilizes the Willis Lease Technical Department Procedures to perform the requirements of an engine repair event while in the shop at the MRO.
  • Ensures work performed during the shop visit is complete and complies with FAA, EASA, and Willis Lease requirements.
  • Delegates as appropriate, the test cell run to ensure engine performance meets lease return requirements. If performance issues arise, the Project Manager is responsible for coordinating resolution with the MRO and Willis Lease.
  • Delegates as appropriate, Post Test Borescope inspections to ensure serviceability of the engine before shop visit completion and works with the MRO and OEM to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Delegates as appropriate, a detailed inventory of the engine at shop visit completion to ensure all items shipped with the engine at the start of the repair event are returned. If any differences are noted, the Project Manager will work with Willis Lease Technical Records to acquire proper certification of installed units. The Project Manager works with the MRO and Willis Lease to replace any missing parts cost-effectively.
  • Acts as the primary coordinator for engine shop visits with the following duties: Prepares the workscope and attains a cost estimate from the MRO. Provides the MRO with all required data for the shop visit. Manages all aspects of the repair to ensure compliance with the workscope and to achieve a cost-effective repair. Review the invoice and manage disputes, if any. Dispositions of all unserviceable material. Ensures the engine is properly packaged for shipment.
  • Assists in any other technical function to support the Company portfolio as may be required.
  • Attend Industry conferences to stay current on engine programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
