About The Position

Megasys Project Manager at EMD Electronics. This role is a field-based position located in Santa Clara, CA (or the surrounding Bay Area), requiring approximately 10% domestic travel. The Project Manager will oversee the construction of gas and chemical systems for customer semiconductor facilities. This role involves serving as both a project leader and people manager, directly leading and developing a team while managing all aspects of project delivery, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional operations teams, building a high-performing project team through coaching, mentorship, and clear accountability. The goal is to foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture while driving the successful completion of projects within specified timelines and budgetary constraints. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical Science, Construction Management, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager in facilities, construction, manufacturing, chemicals, or the semiconductor industry, with a focus on gas and chemical systems
  • OR High School Diploma or GED with 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in facilities, construction, manufacturing, chemicals, or the semiconductor industry, with a focus on gas and chemical systems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and build high-performing teams
  • External applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
  • 75% of time walking throughout the facility (3-5 miles per day).
  • Climbing of ladders up to 12-foot-tall (utilizing fall protection).
  • Basic lifting (up to 40lbs).
  • Bending of the knees and overhead reaching.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Chemical Science, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to gas and chemical systems in semiconductor manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage the construction and demolition of gas and chemical systems for the semiconductor facility, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget with a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure the timely delivery of milestones within the project, including start-up and commissioning of equipment.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and budgets, and monitor progress against these plans.
  • Manage project risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards throughout the construction process.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders and senior management on a regular basis.
  • Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives and deliver high-quality results.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, budget, and resource utilization.
