About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial mechanical projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This individual will take ownership of project financial performance, scheduling, client communication, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and overall project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC/mechanical construction and the ability to manage technically complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Experience with design-build or design-assist projects is highly valued.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience in mechanical/HVAC construction
  • Proven experience managing commercial or industrial mechanical projects
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical construction, and project delivery
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work
  • Strong understanding of project financials, including job cost, WIP, billing, forecasting, and change orders
  • Experience coordinating with general contractors, owners, engineers, vendors, and field teams
  • Strong scheduling, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and client relationship management abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with design-build or design-assist projects preferred
  • Experience working with BIM/CAD and prefabrication environments is a plus
  • Candidates with experience involving HVAC, ductwork, piping, plumbing, hydronic systems, equipment installation, and engineered mechanical systems are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, BIM/CAD, and construction ERP/job-cost systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical construction projects from contract award through closeout
  • Establish and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost controls
  • Monitor project financial performance, including WIP, billing, labor, material costs, and forecasted profitability
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work to identify project requirements and risks
  • Coordinate with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
  • Coordinate closely with estimating, engineering, CAD/BIM, prefabrication, and field operations
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved
  • Manage material and equipment procurement to support project schedules and avoid delays
  • Review project changes and develop pricing, documentation, and negotiations as needed
  • Conduct regular project reviews and communicate project status to leadership
  • Identify potential risks, scope gaps, and opportunities for improved project performance
  • Support project turnover from estimating/preconstruction into execution
  • Maintain strong client and contractor relationships throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, quality expectations, and company procedures
  • Lead project closeout, including punch lists, documentation, final billing, and warranty requirements
