About The Position

US Coatings is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex marine coating and shipyard projects across government and commercial sectors. This role is responsible for driving project execution, financial performance, and schedule adherence while serving as the primary liaison between internal teams, subcontractors, and customers. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong operational judgment, contractual awareness, and the ability to navigate the dynamic environment of active shipyards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of project management experience in marine, shipyard, or industrial environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and overall project financial performance
  • Strong understanding of shipyard operations, sequencing, and trade coordination
  • Ability to operate in secured naval or government facilities
  • Experience in marine projects (new construction, ship repair, or combatant vessels preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • NACE CIP Certification (Coatings Inspector Program)

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day project execution, including production scheduling and subcontractor coordination
  • Serve as the primary schedule driver across shipyard operations, negotiating priorities with multiple trades (welders, electricians, etc.)
  • Maintain full ownership of project financial performance, including budget adherence, forecasting, and cost control
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, including bid letters, purchase orders, and customer specifications
  • Oversee administrative functions such as invoicing, payment tracking, and CFR reporting requirements
  • Facilitate daily and weekly project integration meetings; track and drive completion of action items
  • Deliver all required reporting (quality control, environmental, progress, and closeout documentation) accurately and on time
  • Lead weekly progress reviews and represent the company in customer briefings and high-level project meetings
  • Balance schedule demands with safety, quality, and environmental considerations
  • Identify growth opportunities and document schedule impacts effectively
