About The Position

This role is responsible for leading and managing projects, with a focus on digital implementations and process improvement within a healthcare setting. The Project Manager/Leader will be expected to deliver upon program goals, provide secretariat support, prepare meeting materials, and engage with senior leadership. Key deliverables include supporting the implementation of Central Intakes in Ontario for Diagnostic Imaging, Orthopaedics, Cataracts and Mental Health and Addictions, establishing workflows with vendors, and engaging stakeholders for clinical workflow development.

Requirements

  • Project Management Experience
  • Experience with digital implementations
  • Process improvement/re-engineering
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects using formal project management methodologies
  • Experience producing core project management artifacts (charters, workplans, schedules, risk logs, status reports)
  • 3+ years of experience in a healthcare environment or any other clinical setting
  • Experience working with clinical stakeholders and understanding healthcare service delivery models
  • Experience supporting or leading digital system implementations (e.g., referral systems, scheduling, clinical workflows, enterprise platforms)
  • Experience working with vendors, digital teams, and regional partners to define and implement workflows
  • Demonstrated experience leading stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, and consensus building across multiple partners
  • Experience supporting clinical leads and interdisciplinary teams through change
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate a vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with the program strategy.
  • Ability to build consensus, make decisions based on many variables, and gain support for major initiatives.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders, when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Technology, Health Sciences, Administration, Informatics, or another relevant discipline
  • A Masters Level Degree in these fields would be an asset
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset
  • Demonstrated experience leading provincial and/or enterprise-level change management projects to successful realization.
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a complex hospital and/or healthcare environment in the context of project management or process improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development, health services program planning and implementation, and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience managing relationships, large-scale change, and system transformation.
  • Experience facilitating and coaching interdisciplinary teams and successful use of change management strategies.
  • Experience leading projects with multiple work streams and a budget of >$10m
  • Experience in a central intake scheduling environment is an asset.
  • Proven ability to work within a matrix management structure, while also successfully engaging a wide range of stakeholders in support of organizational objectives
  • Proven ability to handle complex problems that require extensive investigation and analysis.
  • PMP certification preferred (or demonstrated equivalent experience)
  • Healthcare experience

Responsibilities

  • Complete thorough and timely project analysis and reporting, aligning with Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) standards.
  • Deliver upon program goals and objectives as outlined within the multi-year road map including leading efforts to deliver upon.
  • Provide secretariat support to working groups and committees that oversee execution of the project.
  • Independently and proactively prepare meeting materials (presentation, discussion documents, briefing notes, etc.) to support action-oriented discussions.
  • Participate in meetings with project sponsors and senior leadership to allow sufficient executive oversight on the project status.
  • Support development of high-quality project documentation, including charters, business cases, detailed project plans and other related project management artifacts that clearly articulate the objectives, scope and targeted outcomes for the project.
  • Support the implementation of Central Intakes in Ontario for Diagnostic Imaging, Orthopaedics, Cataracts and Mental Health and Addictions.
  • Work with digital, regional and other partners to establish workflows for vendors.
  • Stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering to support clinical leads and clinical workflow development.
