About The Position

The Intermediate Project Manager will support projects related to the development of the Immunization Repository, including management of issues, risks and service change requests to ensure successful and on-time development of the projects and associated work streams. The development and population of an Immunization Repository is a cornerstone within MOHs ‘one immunization record (Immunization Repository)’ priority and is in line with Ontario’s desired immunization future state. This work will be one of the forthcoming projects in the Immunization Repository Optimization Program, one of the key components of the Public Health Digital Platform (under Clinical Care Service delivery).

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience project managing electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience deploying clinical software systems
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience with and knowledge of Project Management concepts (e.g. project goals, risk, scope, participant roles, project and work package planning & scheduling, and quality management)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of knowledge of and/or experience with immunization workflows and associated business processes within pharmacies, hospitals and health records
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Time management, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
  • Collaboration, coordinating tasks, and ensuring that everybody works together effectively, this also involves conflict resolution
  • Past experience with jurisdictional public health programs and/or immunization registries/ repositories
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects in Matrix organizational environments
  • Professional certifications: Project Management Professional; Knowledge and understanding of Project Management’s Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge
  • Demonstrated project management software skills and experience e.g. MS Project, MS Teams etc.
  • Demonstrated experience working with various Project Management delivery methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
  • Knowledge of pharmacy and/ or immunization workflows
  • Experience with health system business implementation and deployment projects
  • Experience in liaising with customers/stakeholders where customer service was a key focus to responding to queries, issues/risk management, etc.
  • Experience operating in highly political environments and across various organizational cultures
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating strength in presentation skills, verbal, written, active listening, conflict resolution and stress tolerance
  • Experience with health system business requirements definition and implementation

Nice To Haves

  • College/University undergraduate degree in Health, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline from a recognized institution or equivalent experience – desired

Responsibilities

  • Support the develop and management of the Integrated Project Plan reflecting the timelines and deliverables
  • Engage with vendors and stakeholders; handle client relationships to manage expectations
  • Proactively identify potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed; identify potential conflicts between project and functional areas
  • Work with the Clinical Repositories, Registries and EHR Data Management teams, namely the Digital Health Drug Repository (DHDR) development team within Ontario Health to provide stakeholder feedback, business requirements
  • Work closely with Architecture, Standards, Privacy and Security teams within Ontario Health to refine business requirements
  • Articulate and prioritize issues and risks and recommend mitigation strategies for decision makers
  • Use appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change in support of change during all stages of projects – concept, definition, planning, implementation and close-out
  • Ensure go-live readiness: technical, configuration, conformance obligations and any workflow modifications
  • Develop project status reports, deployment reporting/tracking and maintaining and monitoring status reporting logs for stakeholders within Ontario Health and the ministry
  • Update and monitor project document repository to ensure all documents are reviewed and maintained in the repository
  • Support the development and management of the Integrated Project Plan
  • Contribute towards program governance and advisory committee(s)
