About The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative Project Manager who wants to play an innovative role in shaping and improving for clients how projects are delivered in industry. The position will be based out of our beautiful Edmonton or Calgary office locations. ISL is comprised of just over 600 employees comprised of award-winning engineers, technologists, planners, landscape architects, scientists, and much more that work together to deliver infrastructure projects that minimize environmental impacts and maximize benefits to the community. We deliver on a variety of multidisciplinary projects. We have extensive expertise – We have a variety of expertise and are comprised of five sectors specializing in Transportation, Municipal and Community, Bridges, Building and Structures and Land and Environment. We are award winning and recognized in industry. We span across 16 offices in Western Canada and work on IPD projects across both Alberta and British Columbia. ISL is globally recognized for its collaborative and innovative approach and the portfolio is growing. Some projects have included: Lloydminster Wastewater Treatment Facility, Drayton Valley Raw Water Pump Station, Calgary Zoo, Fire Halls, Tenant Fit-Ups, Community Centers.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of project management experience in construction or civil engineering.
  • Strong understanding of the complexity of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects and stakeholder relationships.
  • Construction management expertise to support field execution, resolve issues, and complete constructability reviews.
  • Understanding of different contract models and can advise clients on the approach that best supports their value proposition.
  • Bring a collaborative approach using your experience and ability to influence diverse project teams, including owners, consultants, trade partners, and internal staff.
  • Grow the Integrated Project Delivery portfolio. You believe in this collaborative approach and are passionate about seeking new client developments in Edmonton and are prepared to travel to nurture these opportunities.
  • Champion IPD facilitates full day workshops with clients, learn from others and provides mentorship given your own expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) & other Collaborative projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with client goals, team values, and commercial objectives.
  • Champion business development by identifying, pursuing, and securing new project opportunities and long-term partnerships in the Alberta market.
  • Facilitate and contribute to proposal development, including writing compelling narratives, assembling pursuit teams, and coordinating submission logistics.
  • Manage project planning, scheduling, and execution across all phases and disciplines this could include architecture, engineering, and construction.
  • Provide construction management expertise as needed to support field execution, issue resolution, and constructability reviews.
  • Foster collaboration and maintain alignment among project team members, including owners, consultants, trade partners, and internal staff.
  • Oversee project setup, budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial tracking aligns with agreed-upon targets and contingency/risk management plans.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, timely progress reports, including milestone achievements, budget status, and potential risk or opportunity areas.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting minutes, contract amendments, RFI logs, and decision registers.
  • Drive lean thinking and continuous improvement within the project team, leveraging tools like pull planning, Choosing by Advantages (CBA), and Target Value Design (TVD).
  • Support internal team capacity building by mentoring junior staff, sharing IPD best practices, and contributing to Communities of Practice.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, policies, contracts, and quality standards, including adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement sessions and workshops, ensuring productive communication and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Act as the point of contact for clients and partners, building trust and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in strategic planning and internal initiatives that shape the company’s IPD approach and Enhanced Project Delivery Discipline, culture, and future direction.
