About The Position

We are seeking a driven & focused Project Manager in Training to join our dynamic Construction Team. The Project Manager in Training is responsible for contributing and adhering to construction timelines, driving the clean-up of deficiency checklists and supporting the development of our growing Communities. Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Education in Construction, Project Management or related field
  • 2-5 years’ experience in low rise construction in a similar role
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, and other related management software
  • Ability to plan, manage and adhere to a Project Schedule
  • Ability to assist with supporting the Construction Teams - monitoring progress, providing reports and assisting in ensuring compliance with our safety policies & regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Sense of urgency: ability to efficiently meet project deadlines
  • Ability to exchange information clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Be prepared to attend internal weekly meetings held by management
  • Ability to follow direction
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and fully comprehend construction drawings
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills to ensure that tasks get completed on time
  • Regular access to a reliable vehicle with a G Class driving permit

Responsibilities

  • Support assigned Project Manager(s) in the production of homes from backfill to closing
  • Manage various stages of production in new home construction
  • Review and maintain working drawings, specifications, scopes, construction details, and sales details
  • Apply On Location Schedule (OLS) and On Location Warranty (OLW) to perform assigned tasks
  • Complete checklists including: Builder Frame Checklist, 1st Handyman, 2nd Handyman, Builder Punchout Checklists, Move-in Ready, Pre Delivery Inspections
  • Manage the lot schedule and trade management
  • Ensure Caivan’s quality standards and Caivan Performance guidelines are maintained and perform daily quality checks on production homes
  • Support the Project Manager(s) with preparation of City inspections
  • Conduct site tours, safety inspections and lead by example to ensure policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
  • Report any day-to-day problems on the job site (as they arise) to the Project Manager(s)
  • Contribute to overall site cleanup and cleanliness
  • Build and maintain relationships with trade partners
  • Perform other duties as required
