About The Position

The Project Manager III, reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office (PMO), leads multidisciplinary project teams, providing direction, drive, and coordination of both regional and enterprise-initiated projects. Projects may consist of onboarding new customers, IT integrations and enhancements, operational process improvements, facility infrastructure, and automation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of business administration or similar field required. May substitute 10+ years of directly related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years project management experience, including task identification, estimating/budgeting, resource planning, risk assessment, expectation management, scope, and issue management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and experience leading warehouse/3PL projects, specifically around using technology to transform operations, new facility stand-ups, Lean Six Sigma process improvements initiatives, and/or new customer onboarding projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and applied understanding of project management principles, practices, tools, and methodologies.
  • Strong command of MS Office toolset (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Possesses a high degree of technical savvy, with a keen ability to learn new technology quickly and easily.
  • Strategic and innovative mindset, with the desire to act quickly, think critically, challenge the status quo, create innovative solutions, and drive transformation.
  • Displays energy, enthusiasm, and an even temperament, particularly during stressful times.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Skilled in critical thinking; removing obstacles and driving results; using sound judgment and business acumen to accurately analyze information and make solid recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or similar certification highly desired.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification highly desired.
  • Experience working with a Project Management Office (PMO), using program and project processes and methodologies across multiple levels of the organization preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management systems, experience with Clarizen preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads high-profile and complex projects comprised of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Applies industry-standard project management best practices when creating artifacts such as project plans, budget tracking, schedules, meeting notes, risk registries, and status reports.
  • Presents project status, risks, and issues during executive level steering committee meetings.
  • Carefully manages project scope by leveraging change management processes to capture and report on change requests.
  • Energizes project teams around a shared goal, encouraging new ways of working and innovative solutions to challenging problems.
  • Balances detailed task management with strategic thinking so as not to lose sight of the business outcome in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects at once and communicating status, technical information, and issues to a variety of audiences in a manner that establishes rapport and builds consensus.
  • Mentors other project managers and those that may be interested in a career in project management through ad hoc coaching and more formalized outreach activities.
  • Leads and contributes to internal PMO process improvement initiatives.
  • Complies with PMO standards and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
