About The Position

JVIC is seeking a talented Project Manager to drive challenging, high-impact fabrication projects in Pasadena, Texas. This role involves managing small to mid-sized capital projects across various sectors, demonstrating full ownership of project financials, and providing strategic leadership. The Project Manager will execute global projects utilizing overseas High Value Engineering (HVE) centers, adhere to corporate policies, build strong client relationships, and champion Management of Change. The position also includes developing new business opportunities, coordinating project staffing, and developing proposals. Field activities, including some climbing and occasional travel, are necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience in lieu of education will be accepted.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Process Plant, Petroleum Refining, and / or Petrochemical Sector.
  • At least 8-10 years as a Project Manager or related Project Engineering role managing projects.
  • Experienced in managing a portfolio of projects ranging from small to mid-cap projects, as well as mid-large cap standalone projects of $100MM TIC and up.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required to provide effective intra and inter-discipline coordination on projects, as well as effective communication with clients and vendors.
  • Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and vaccination requirements established by the company or mandated by specific clients and industrial job sites.

  • Some Sustainable Energy experience is preferred.
  • PE license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small to mid-sized capital projects ($1M–$150M TIC) across the oil & gas, chemical, power, and water treatment sectors, encompassing greenfield, brownfield, retrofit, and expansion scopes.
  • Demonstrate full ownership of project financials, actively managing revenue and driving gross margin performance.
  • Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for all project phases.
  • Manage staff, oversee schedules and budgets, and evaluate productivity and quality to ensure successful execution.
  • Execute global projects utilizing overseas High Value Engineering (HVE) centers across vertical and horizontal models.
  • Adhere to administrative, technical, and corporate policies and procedures that optimize project operations and maximize profitability.
  • Build strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of coordination for all internal and external project personnel.
  • Ensure the client's input and job requirements are adequately addressed and implemented consistently with the contractual requirements.
  • Organize and supervise the implementation of project management systems and corporate quality systems.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of project invoices in accordance with contract agreements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the client and the accounting department to efficiently resolve any outstanding billing issues.
  • Champion Management of Change by identifying and documenting ECNs and processing in a timely fashion where additional work is required.
  • Develop new business opportunities as a by-product of relationship with clients.
  • Participate in business development meetings and drive growth of clientele.
  • Coordinate with department managers to optimize project staffing levels, managing the onboarding, de-staffing, recruitment, and training of project personnel.
  • Develop, coach and track employee skill level in technical and work management areas.
  • Develop project proposals, proposal scopes of work, and budgets and forecasts.
  • Perform field walk downs and data collection.
