About The Position

A Project Manager I is an exempt position. A PM1 can manage basic field test programs and is expected to perform all Project Scientist requirements. Additionally, a PM1 serves as the company’s in-field representative to interface with clients and regulatory personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 18 months emissions testing experience
  • Wet chemistry or instrumental method knowledge and equipment operation competencies
  • Source Evaluation Society QI (or QSTI) in either Group 1 or 3
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow test protocols
  • Computer skills - Intermediate skill level of Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Manage basic field test programs.
  • Perform all Project Scientist requirements.
  • Serve as the company’s in-field representative to interface with clients and regulatory personnel.
  • Conduct on-site field testing, demonstrating competencies with wet chemistry and/or instrumental sampling methodologies.
  • Follow current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of equipment, maintenance programs, and other policies.
  • Ensure the company is represented in a professional manner at customer sites and in the office.
  • Train Project Scientists 1, 2, and 3 on field procedures, test methods, and calibrations.
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety Program Manual and ensure team members comply.
  • Adhere to all DOT requirements as trained.
  • Properly use the Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
  • Ensure all team members comply with safety and DOT requirements.
  • Maintain good driving records with Alliance vehicles and keep ELD records current.
  • Lead toolbox, job safety analysis, emergency action plan, and other safety meetings.
  • Select and use proper PPE for the task at hand and ensure team members are using it.
  • Interact with customers to understand specific safety issues at their jobsite.
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility.
  • Supervise equipment packing for projects and ensure calibrations are current.
  • Train junior staff as needed.
  • Supervise/delegate tasks to keep personnel productive and follow up on task completion.
  • Prepare the test team for the scope of work prior to mobilization.
  • Contact the Operations Manager or Client Account Manager (CAM) for a pre-job briefing.
  • Review chain(s) of custody, templates, and sample labels.
  • Contact client prior to mobilization to confirm testing events and schedule.
  • Complete the Daily Activities Summary (DAS) daily.
  • Supervise sample collection, chain of custody, and sample shipment.
  • Update ATLAS with project information, including data submittal dates.
  • Demonstrate effective and consistent leadership of field teams.
  • Review all project preliminary data for accuracy and completeness prior to submittal.
  • Diagnose field issues with CEMs sampling system.
  • Communicate and interact with clients, regulators, and field team.
  • Collect and upload required plant process data for a project.
  • Train PS1s, PS2s, and PS3s on their proper field duties.
  • Ensure quality data collection.
  • Review and upload data to the secure AST server each test day.
