About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager I to join our Environmental Team in Albany, NY on a part-time as needed basis. In this role, you’ll own project outcomes from start to finish, collaborate with technical specialists across disciplines, and play a critical role in guiding projects through regulatory pathways while delivering practical, high-quality solutions to clients.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience required
Minimum of 2 years of project management experience required
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Proven ability to manage scope, budget and schedule of technical tasks
Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) as well as Microsoft Office
Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
Strong leadership, organization, and multitasking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Deltek Vision preferred
Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Responsibilities

Manage environmental projects from initial investigation through design, permitting, and implementation, delivering practical and sustainable solutions
Oversee project delivery including scope, budget, schedule, and client coordination across public and private sector projects
Coordinate contracts, documentation, and collaboration with clients, regulators, and subcontractors
Drive project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly progress reviews
Develop and implement health and safety plans while ensuring regulatory compliance and QA/QC standards
Communicate project status, technical findings, and recommendations clearly to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
