About The Position

As a Project Manager I/II at APS, you will lead important projects that help deliver reliable energy services and business improvements across the organization. By bringing together teams, managing resources, and guiding projects from planning through completion, you help ensure APS can effectively serve customers and support the communities that depend on safe, dependable power every day.

Requirements

  • Experience leading medium-complexity projects involving multiple departments and stakeholders.

  • A four-year Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Systems or related field from an accredited college or university plus two (2) years job-related project management experience. (For Project Manager I)
  • In lieu of bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and/or experience as a Project Manager or in positions defining and/or managing project scopes, timelines, budgets and delivery equaling six (6) years. (For Project Manager I)
  • A four-year Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Systems or related field from an accredited college or university plus five (5) years job-related project management experience. (For Project Manager II)
  • In lieu of bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and/or experience as a Project Manager or in positions defining and/or managing project scopes, timelines, budgets and delivery equaling nine (9) years. (For Project Manager II)
  • Experience managing multiple small-to-medium size projects simultaneously. (For Project Manager II)

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional projects that drive meaningful business outcomes and support APS operational goals.
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders to align project priorities, resources, and timelines for successful delivery.
  • Coordinate and motivate multidisciplinary teams to achieve project milestones and solve challenges along the way.
  • Manage project budgets, risks, and resources while balancing organizational needs and strategic objectives.
  • Communicate progress, key decisions, and project results to leaders and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Develop and execute project plans that keep teams focused, organized, and moving toward successful outcomes.
  • Plans, monitors and manages all aspects of moderately scaled projects across one or more departments or business units including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure in accordance with internal process methodologies. Ensures completion according to project plan (i.e. scope, schedule, budget).
  • Develops and presents comprehensive project plan to project sponsors and management. Obtains all necessary approvals.
  • Leads or coordinates project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management, vendor relationships and troubleshooting.
  • Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions.
  • Oversees schedules and directs team resources. Ensures that materials and equipment are delivered on time.
  • Ensures project results meet requirements regarding quality, reliability, schedule and cost.
  • Provides timely and accurate information and status updates to project teams, business management, project sponsors, and senior management.
