About The Position

ECI is seeking a Project Manager for Heavy Civil Construction projects, specializing in hydroelectric dams, tunnels, and underground/geotechnical work. Unlike traditional roles within large companies, this position offers significant ownership of the entire project, including schedule, budget, and client relationships, with direct access to decision-making. This role is ideal for experienced project managers from larger contractors seeking a position where they have true control and responsibility for their projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management on U.S. based projects.
• Proven experience with CPM scheduling, estimating, and subcontractor management.
• Willingness to travel to long-term project sites across the Midwest (project-related travel typically 25-50%).
• Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Dam, hydro, tunnel, or geotechnical project exposure.
• EIT certification.
• Survey or layout experience.
• An internship with a heavy civil or underground contractor.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Train project engineers to manage their own work.
• Manage change orders and risks, maintaining strong owner relationships.
• Direct field engineering, surveying, and quality control.
• Manage subcontractors, procurement, and resource allocation.
• Oversee CPM schedules, budgets, cost accounting, and forecasting.
