About The Position

The Project Manager, GCF Funding Proposal Development, is responsible for project management and coordination of the development of a Funding Proposal to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) for the project titled Climate Resilient Enduring Earth for Botswana and Guatemala (CREE-BG) . The Project Manager is part of TNC’s Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) team within the Global Protect Oceans, Lands, and Waters program and will report to the Project Lead. The GCF has recently approved Project Preparation Facility (PPF) funding to TNC (as the Accredited Entity) to develop a Funding Proposal for the CREE-BG project. CREE-BG will promote integrated and climate-resilient management of Protected and Conserved Areas (PCAs) and adjacent landscapes in Botswana and Guatemala through a paradigm shift in financing, governance, and livelihood approaches. The project will be developed and implemented in close coordination with national agencies responsible for protected areas, environment, forestry, climate change, community development and finance alongside local governments, civil society and Indigenous organizations, community-based organizations, local communities, non-governmental organizations and private sector actors. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and executing TNC’s PPF workplan and budget to support the successful development and submission of the CREE-BG Funding Proposal package to the GCF. This involves coordination across TNC teams, executing entities, implementing partners, government agencies, consultants, and other stakeholders necessary for completion of the Funding Proposal including feasibility studies, gender analysis, environmental and social safeguards, institutional arrangements, detailed budget development and other PPF activities. The Project Manager will also be responsible for helping the team to ensure TNC and GCF requirements and standards are met for all deliverables. This is a 15-month term-limited position contingent on TNC and GCF signing a PPF grant agreement, with the possibility of an extension.
