About The Position

As Project Manager for Plant Ops, you will develop, implement, and administer capital projects as designated by management and/or Senior Leadership. You will be responsible for the development and management of scope, costs, and schedules for projects. This includes developing project scope, schedule, and budget with input from Facilities senior management, user groups, design consultants, construction managers, outside agencies, Bio-Med, Safety, Infection Control, etc. You will obtain necessary sign-offs, keep projects on budget and on schedule with minimal supervision, and present facility/space issues and proposals to end users and senior management for informed decision-making. You will drive projects to resolution by effectively leading groups with disparate needs to obtain consensus regarding capital issues. Additionally, you will develop and maintain project baseline/actual budgets and schedules, promptly report on variances, and develop and implement strategies for getting back to baseline. Regular communication with department heads, staff, consultants, contractors, and outside agencies is essential for effective project completion. You will also provide supervision and evaluation of architectural/engineering activities with other departments as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience in construction related field utilizing strategic planning, risk management and change management.
  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Ability to establish professional, trusting and meaningful relationships with the entire project team.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to use basic reasoning and to resolve issues quickly with little or no direction, to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, schedule format, good negotiating skills, and to make good judgement and decisions.
  • Ability to manage an independent project up to $25M of any size larger.
  • Advanced blueprint reading ability.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical/plumbing and electrical system.
  • Ability to recognize quality work.
  • Knowledge of industry safety procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of estimation, preconstruction and all phases of a construction project.
  • Ability to frequently sit and use hands to handle objects on controls, to occasionally stand and walk jobsite.
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs, frequently lift/move up to 100lbs, and occasionally lift/move more than 100lbs.
  • Distance and peripheral vision, depth, perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to occasionally work in outside weather conditions, to frequently work near moving mechanical parts, to occasionally work in high, precarious places and to be occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Ability to endure moderate to high noise levels at times.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Building Science, Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred, but can be substituted with experience
  • OSHA 10 hour certification preferred. If not current, must receive within first year of employment and keep current.
  • LEED Certification is a plus
  • Healthcare Construction experience preferred.
  • working knowledge of Timberline Cost Reporting preferred
  • working knowledge of other type of Project Management software preferred.
