About The Position

Glen Mills, PA - We are seeking a skilled Project Manager & Estimator with experience in construction to oversee the day-to-day management of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves close collaboration with the head estimator to review project plans, bid on projects, and ensure accurate cost estimation. The ideal candidate will coordinate with estimators, project managers, and supervisors, review contract terms, drawings, and safety plans, and anticipate project needs for equipment, subcontractors, and team assignments. A key aspect of this role is establishing and enforcing safety plans, setting clear goals for teams, monitoring costs, manpower, and materials, and tracking billing and change orders to prevent cost overruns. The Project Manager & Estimator will also be responsible for updating clients and management on project progress, addressing concerns, and identifying potential project risks through site inspections. On the estimating side, this role requires studying project specifications, drawings, and schedules to prepare accurate bids, conducting detailed takeoffs, estimating labor, material, and equipment costs, and assembling competitive bids. It also involves soliciting and reviewing subcontractor quotes to ensure the best pricing and scope coverage, and preparing detailed proposals and bid packages, as well as managing change orders.

Requirements

  • Experience in construction project management and estimating
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project planning, and cost estimation
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, drawings, and specifications
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Possesses strong leadership skills, attention to detail and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day management of construction projects, regarding safety, on time and within budget
  • Work closely with head estimator review project plans, bid on projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation
  • Coordinate with Estimators, Project Managers, and Supervisors before project starts
  • Review all contract terms, drawings, and safety plans
  • Anticipate project needs, including equipment, subcontractors, and team assignments
  • Establish a safety plan and ensure compliance with all safety protocols
  • Set clear goals for supervisors and crews, provide daily/weekly check-ins to ensure progress and troubleshoot issues
  • Monitor costs, manpower, and materials to ensure that the project stays within budget
  • Track billing and change orders to avoid cost overruns
  • Update clients and management on project progress, address concerns promptly, maintain good relationships
  • Identify potential project risks early, conduct site inspections, ensure all safety protocols
  • Study project specifications, drawings, and schedules to prepare accurate bids
  • Conduct detailed takeoffs, estimate labor, material, equipment costs and assemble competitive bids
  • Solicit quotes from subcontractors and review bids to ensure the best pricing and scope coverage
