Project Manager / Estimator
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to oversee commercial asphalt and paving projects from estimating through final completion. This role blends detailed pre-construction estimating, project execution, and active field coordination to deliver parking lot paving, resurfacing, and maintenance projects safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of asphalt materials, production methods, and construction scheduling, along with the ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously. Work Environment This position combines office-based estimating and planning responsibilities with field coordination at active paving job sites. The role requires close collaboration with crews, subcontractors, and clients to ensure high-quality, efficient project delivery. Requirements
- Proven experience in asphalt paving project management and/or estimating
- Strong understanding of asphalt materials, paving operations, and production methods
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Solid organizational, scheduling, and cost-control skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans, scopes, and site layouts
- Professional client-facing communication abilities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites as required
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed takeoffs and cost estimates for asphalt paving, repairs, sealcoating, striping, and patching projects
- Manage projects from bid award through closeout
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, trucking operations, and material suppliers
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and job cost tracking
- Conduct site walks, pre-job planning meetings, and daily coordination as needed
- Monitor production rates, material usage, and quality control standards
- Track change orders, documentation, and overall project performance
- Communicate proactively with clients and internal teams to manage scope and timelines
