About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to lead both project estimation and execution for painting and contracting work across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This hybrid role blends technical estimating, project leadership, and financial oversight to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate is equally skilled at analyzing project scope and numbers as they are at managing teams and client relationships, helping drive operational excellence and business growth.
Requirements
- Proven experience in project estimation and management, preferably in painting, contracting, or related construction industries
- Strong ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and detailed project specifications
- Proficiency with industry estimating and project management software, along with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent leadership, verbal, and written communication skills
- Effective negotiation and organizational capabilities
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control practices
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bids by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Oversee projects from award to completion, including scheduling, resource allocation, subcontractor coordination, and crew assignments
- Monitor project budgets, track costs, administer change orders, and maintain profitability
- Serve as the primary contact for clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and aligned expectations
- Lead, train, and mentor project teams to improve workflows, efficiency, and quality outcomes
- Review project plans, interpret technical specifications, and uphold quality and safety standards
- Contribute to sales strategies by identifying new opportunities and participating in business development activities
