About The Position

BEST Automatic Sprinkler Corp is a licensed fire protection contractor located in Braintree, Massachusetts. Best Automatic provides fire protection services throughout Greater Boston, the South Shore, the Cape and Nantucket to many of the large hospitals, nursing homes, private schools and colleges. Established in 1984, BEST Automatic Sprinkler Corp. has many years of professional experience providing services including engineering and design, installation, maintenance, repairs, alterations and inspection and testing of fire protection systems. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager/ Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-10 years of experience as a Construction PM and estimating with some expertise in fire sprinkler, or similar industry. A strong background in estimating and project management is essential.

Requirements

  • General understanding of Construction and/or Fire Sprinkler project management
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and fire system plans
  • Collaborate with other trades and contractors to ensure system needs and construction flows are met
  • Constant communication with the internal project teams
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in design or estimating in the fire sprinkler industry
  • Familiarity with and ability to read, interpret, and apply NFPA and ICC Code

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Compile material and plan submittals for Contractors, Architects and AHJ, following up with permits, scheduling designs with designers
  • Reviewing install plans and stock lists before jobs begin, ordering and scheduling material deliveries, monitor orders to ensure deadline are met
  • Conduct site visits and manage projects as needed to determine client needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Estimating and preparing proposals for fire sprinkler systems
  • Laying out bids, completing material takeoffs, and obtaining vendor pricing
  • Perform system surveys as needs
  • Review RFP’s, specifications, basic design and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
  • Attending job coordination meetings, handling change orders, going on regular job site visits
  • Utilize PM software to track projects and stay on budget
  • Prepare and present proposals to clients
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
