About The Position

We are seeking a Project Manager with Estimating capabilities to support our Specialized Business Unit – PACE Systems for Clean Rooms, Controlled Environments, and Advanced Facilities work to include Mission Critical Data Centers. This role is weighed more heavily toward Project Management but requires the ability and willingness to self-perform estimate- including takeoffs, pricing, and owning projects from pursuit through closeout. The ideal candidate may have experience in a high-performing interiors/self-perform construction group- particularly with a carpentry background, who is interested in advancing into cleanrooms, controlled environments, advanced facilities and mission critical. Direct cleanroom and data center experience is a plus, but strong interiors and self-perform construction experience is essential. Training on cleanroom-specific requirements will be provided. This is a true “estimate it, win it, build it” role. Candidates must be hands-on, commercially minded, and able to take accountability for both preconstruction and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–7+ years of experience in interiors, carpentry, or self-perform commercial/industrial construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Experience or strong aptitude in estimating, takeoffs, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred).
  • Willingness to travel to project sites within a defined regional radius.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with controlled environments, cleanrooms (ISO 14644), or advanced manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience with Procore project management software.
  • Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., ZZ Takeoff, The Edge).
  • Interest in leadership growth and expanded responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects from contract award through closeout.
  • Manage small to mid-sized projects (typically ~$250,000 to $20M+) with a strong emphasis on self-perform interiors and specialty construction.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate closely with field leadership to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
  • Lead project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
  • Oversee contract administration, pay applications, cost tracking, forecasting, and change management.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and resolve scope or cost issues.
  • Perform regular site visits and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and safety requirements.
  • Manage project closeout, punch lists, documentation, and owner sign-off.
  • Prepare detailed estimates and takeoffs for self-perform interiors and controlled environment scopes.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define scope, identify risks, and develop pricing strategies.
  • Utilize estimating tools (Excel required; estimating software preferred) to generate accurate and timely pricing.
  • Conduct site walks and pre-bid assessments.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure bids align with realistic labor, production rates, durations, and resource availability.
  • Transition successful estimates into executable project plans.
  • Learn and apply the unique requirements of cleanrooms and controlled environments, including sequencing, quality control, and installation standards.
  • Collaborate with Controlled Environments leadership to ensure consistency in processes, safety, quality, and execution.
  • Support procurement, material tracking, staging, and coordination for specialty materials.
  • Participate in post-project reviews and lessons-learned efforts to drive continuous improvement.
