About The Position

Haley & Aldrich is seeking a Project Manager, Environmental Engineer or Geologist to join their growing team. This role involves technical project management with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time, local hybrid position located in their Walnut Creek, CA; Oakland, CA; or San Jose, CA office. The role requires managing and executing complex environmental projects throughout the Bay Area, focusing on remedial investigations, site characterization, remediation, and regulatory compliance. The Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage project scope, schedule, budget, technical quality, and health and safety performance. Responsibilities also include interpreting environmental and geologic data, developing conceptual site models, preparing regulatory deliverables, and maintaining effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field.
Minimum 8–12 years of relevant local Bay Area environmental consulting experience, including direct project management experience.
California Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) registration, as appropriate.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to independently lead project teams to achieve project and client goals and objectives.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and financial acumen.
Proficient computer literacy skills, including use of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint—and the ability to learn software needed to support financial management, diverse project needs, and client requirements.
Demonstrated ability to work on interdisciplinary project teams.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
2+ years of project management and financial management experience.
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and current refresher updates.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day project execution with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and health and safety.
Manage the full project lifecycle, including scoping, cost estimating, proposal support, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, resource planning, and financial management.
Plan and manage site characterization programs, including coordination of field investigations and oversight of field teams.
Evaluate and interpret geologic and site characterization data, develop conceptual site models, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives.
Prepare and/or review work plans, technical reports, and regulatory submittals.
Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Coach and mentor staff and review work products to support consistent quality and knowledge transfer.
Plan all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.
