About The Position

Hypertec is seeking a Project Manager to join our Engineering team in Montreal, Quebec. This role involves leading projects from kickoff to completion, ensuring they stay on track with timelines, budgets, and deliverables. The Project Manager will be responsible for facilitating key meetings, identifying and resolving issues, building and maintaining project schedules, monitoring budgets, conducting risk assessments, and serving as a point of contact for customers. Collaboration with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers is essential, as is keeping stakeholders informed. The role also includes participating in customer and facility meetings, assessing resource needs, maintaining accurate project documentation, supporting the preparation of operational manuals, and contributing to financial reviews.

Requirements

  • Five years of project management experience (project values from $100K to $10,000,000)
  • PMP certification required
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to track and organize information data and communications efficiently to ensure project issues are dealt with promptly and properly
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of software, Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of Agency Certification Standards (UL/CSA)
  • Ability to travel to customer’s job sites within Canada and the U.S.A.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Computer Server industry will be considered an asset
  • Preferably B. Eng. (Computer Science, Industrial, Electrical)

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from kickoff to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables stay on track
  • Facilitate project kickoff meetings and key design review sessions
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues, bottlenecks, and scheduling conflicts
  • Build and maintain project schedules, tracking progress to support on-time delivery
  • Monitor project budgets and costs to help meet financial objectives
  • Conduct project risk assessments and support mitigation planning
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers, maintaining strong communication throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and installation crews
  • Keep project stakeholders aligned by sharing the right information at the right time
  • Participate in customer and facility meetings, including equipment reviews and runoffs (some travel required)
  • Assess project resource needs and partner with leadership to support appropriate staffing
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including purchase orders, issue logs, change requests, and quality records
  • Support the preparation of operations and maintenance manuals, project binders, and closing documentation
  • Contribute to financial reviews and final project summaries at project completion
