About The Position

As a Project Manager in Electronic Security Systems (ESS), you are responsible for the scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction of a project throughout its entire lifecycle, from Initiating through closing phases. The PM depends on the help of other people to perform most of the actual activities of the project. A Project Manager’s role is primarily focused around written and verbal communication to all project stakeholders. The PM is responsible for overseeing and performing project management functions on all client site projects, budgets, and scopes. The PM will act as the responsible person on their assigned projects and have direct control over all project activities. This position will be providing direction to a wide range of internal and external personnel. While this position is virtual on a day-to-day basis, the job involves periodic travel to project sites in Northern VA/ Washington DC. As such, we require the candidate to reside in that region.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction trades and settings or experience with Electronic Security Systems (ESS)
  • Strong technical abilities and the demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Experience in a client-facing role, with a demonstrated pleasant professional demeanor.
  • A solid understanding of PMP methodologies and best practices
  • Travel up to 25% of the time is required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence.
  • Reside in the Northern VA/ Washington DC region.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and performing project management functions on all client site projects, budgets, and scopes.
  • Providing direction to a wide range of internal and external personnel.
  • Managing projects and communicating with all project stakeholders.
  • Accountable for following and helping to improve established processes.
  • Developing a strong long-term relationship with the client, managing expectations, communications, and satisfaction.
  • Providing clear leadership and ownership for the project within Diversified, including accurate and timely verbal and written communication and follow-up.
  • Coordinating all activities associated with the timely, accurate, and on-budget completion of the project, including engaging stakeholders, delegating responsibilities clearly, and running client and internal project meetings.
  • Ensuring appropriate and frequent communication between stakeholders.
  • Providing support and assistance to team members as needed.
  • Providing and/or directing technical and administrative support to project team members.
  • Developing and maintaining all related project schedules.
  • Performing field verification of prospective work sites.
  • Documenting all issues with sites and keeping everyone informed of potential issues and solutions.
  • Coordinating all drawings and documentation between all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitating and directing design reviews to assure proper documentation in the field.
  • Coordinating all system programming and final checkout of systems.
  • Providing a punch-list of remaining tasks after substantial completion.
  • Coordinating training and turnover of projects to the client, service department, and sales.
