About The Position

GFT is seeking a dedicated and Sr. Drainage Engineer to join our Southeast Transportation Group. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at either our Orlando or Maitland, FL office. Working on the roadway team at GFT offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Transportation Engineering (or a related field).
  • 10+ years of experience in in drainage design for highway and roadway projects.
  • Proficient in OpenRoads Designer.
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, and Drainage Manual.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain in 6 months

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience on FDOT District 6 (D6) projects strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and permitting documents.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including stormwater collection system analysis.
  • Develop stormwater management designs and obtain permits in compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Perform reviews of drainage designs, plans, and reports for FDOT and municipal transportation projects.
  • Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and compliance with applicable FDOT standards and guidelines.
  • Functioning as Project Manager for drainage related projects in programs supporting the South Florida Market.
