This role involves leading end-to-end planning and execution of land development projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with zoning, environmental, regulatory, and contractual requirements. The Project Manager will manage and coordinate complex development applications, including rezoning, variances, permits, and other municipal and regulatory approvals. Responsibilities include overseeing project budgets, schedules, resources, and risk management, escalating critical issues to senior leadership as required. The role also entails conducting site feasibility assessments, supporting development strategy and decision-making, and contributing to master plans for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments with sustainable design principles. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, government agencies, and community groups is key. The Project Manager will also monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in planning, engineering, architecture, construction management, geography or related field from an accredited University or College.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in land development, municipal approvals, infrastructure delivery, engineering coordination, planning, or construction.
  • This position is approximately 80% office and 20% on site.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Ontario driver’s license in good standing are required.
  • Ability to work in safety-sensitive construction zones, around large machinery and heavy equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates working toward or holding CPT, RPP, PMP, CET, P.Eng., or other applicable professional designations will also be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of land development projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with zoning, environmental, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate complex development applications, including rezoning, variances, permits, and other municipal and regulatory approvals.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, resources, and risk management, escalating critical issues to senior leadership as required.
  • Conduct site feasibility assessments and support the development strategy and decision-making, incorporating input from senior team members.
  • Contribute to the preparation of master plans for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, incorporating sustainable and innovative design principles.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, external consultants, government agencies, and community stakeholders to advance project objectives and resolve issues.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, negotiations, and public presentations to municipal boards and community groups, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to continuously improve project outcomes and maintain competitiveness.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes, coordination practices, and team effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, professionalism, and adherence to organizational policies while performing additional related duties as required.
