About The Position

NorthStar Energy Solutions is Hiring for an Onsite Project Manager in Cameron, TX. The Onsite Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the installation, coordination, and delivery of medium voltage (MV) electrical systems for data center construction projects. This role ensures that all MV infrastructure—such as substations, switchgear, transformers, and distribution systems—is installed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with design specifications and industry standards. The position requires close coordination with contractors, utilities, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of construction jobsite processes and procedures.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple fast-paced projects with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and permitting agencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
  • Effective scheduling and delegation skills to ensure timely task completion.
  • Working knowledge of billing processes, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

Responsibilities

  • Lead onsite execution of medium voltage electrical scope for data center construction projects
  • Manage installation of MV systems (typically 5kV–35kV), including switchgear, transformers, feeders, and substations
  • Coordinate with utility providers for service integration, energization, and outages
  • Oversee subcontractors and field crews to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to schedule
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and data center design standards
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field documentation
  • Conduct site walks, inspections, and QA/QC verification of installed systems
  • Support commissioning activities, including pre-functional and functional testing of MV systems
  • Collaborate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to resolve coordination issues
  • Enforce safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and energized work procedures
  • Provide regular reporting to stakeholders on schedule, budget, and progress
